Writer's Guidelines
Northern Aquaculture is published by Capamara Communications Inc. and serves the coldwater fish farming industry in North America with six bi-monthly issues. The readership is comprised of producers (salmon, trout, charr, oysters, mussels, etc), hatchery managers, researchers, consultants and equipment suppliers from across the continent.
Northern Aquaculture carries a range of articles from short 100-400 word news items to 600 word columns and the occasional 1200 word feature. The paper also carries regular sections on new products, fish health, book reviews and editorial comment. The emphasis is on news and practical information that will help fish farmers in their day-to-day operations.
Before sending unsolicited articles contributors should query the editor by phone or e-mail with a brief outline of the proposed story. All first time contributions are submitted on a speculative basis.
Submissions
Articles should be formatted in Microsoft Word and submitted by email as attached documents. Material can also be sent on CD by mail or by fax but must be received at least five working days ahead of the editorial deadline. Photographs (high resolution jpegs) should be sent to the editor by email or can accompany an article sent on CD.
Deadline
All material must be received no later then the 20th of the month to be in time for publication the following month.
